About Project Impala

Project Impala is my attempt at documenting the restoration of my 1964 Chevrolet Impala. I hope this site can help others looking to do the same thing as well as provide some insight as to what goes into a backyard restoration.

About Me: My name is Thomas (TJ) Gamble. I am currently a Freelance Website Developer in Auburn, Alabama. I have a son who is currently 8 years old and a wife that supports my hobby as long as I don't spend any money on it or junk up the yard (but she lets me squeeze out a dollar or two every now an then).

My obsession with 60's chevys started as a child. As long as I have known what a car is, I have wanted a 1963 or 1964 Impala. I don't really know why. It doesn't bring back memories as with many of the younger owners of these cars because no one in my family had one while I was growing up. My father had a green '64, but long before I was born. I didn't even know he had one until he told me after seeing mine. The car just fits my style. I like long, old, somewhat rectangular, sporty looking cars. I have never been a huge fan of the big fin, curvy designs of the 40s and 50s, and the early 70s were too focused on going fast. The 60s is my decade, design-wise, and the 1963/1964 Chevrolet Impala is what the 60s were all about.

Barter Opportunity: I am in the situation where restoring this car to where I demand it be costs a lot more than I currently have to put in it. Luckily, I am patient. If this car takes 10 years, then it takes 10 years. However, I am always looking for ways to save some money and get the car done quicker. I am always open to barter or trade opportunities and welcome the proposal. As stated above, I am a Website Developer and specialize in e-commerce. If you are interested in a possible barter, please contact me and I will be happy to send you samples of my work.
